Rama Ghanem (b. 1998) is an artist, art professional, and cultural strategist. She holds an MFA in Visual Arts, with a concentration in Moving Image, from Columbia University.
She’s an alum of the Salama Bint Hamdan Emerging Artists Fellowship and a former research fellow at Columbia University’s Institute for Religion, Culture, and Public Life. Her long-term project—on the displacement of archaeological objects from the West Bank to American museums—has been exhibited and screened at St Moritz Art Film Festival (2024), Columbia’s Wallach Art Gallery (2024 & 2025) and LeRoy Neiman Gallery (2025), among others. She earned her BA (hons) in Fine Arts at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Rama has also curated several group and solo exhibitions centering lens-based practices, featuring artists such as Shumon Ahmed, Lara Chahine, Reem Falaknaz, Tanya Habjouqa, and Munem Wasif, among others. Her parallel work in editorial, programming, and communications spans a network of regional institutions and international brands. She has collaborated with teams at 421 Arts Campus, Afikra, Alserkal Avenue, Bangladesh Art Week, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, Emirates Literature Festival, Google Arts & Culture, Ishara Art Foundation, Italian Cultural Institute Abu Dhabi, RAK Art, and Reel Palestine. As a creative writer at leading global communications and design agency, AKQA, she shaped narrative strategy and brand voice for clients including Al Ghurair, Chalhoub Group, Dunkin’, Dyson, Hyundai Motor Europe, Jumeirah, Loewe, Nestlé, Omniyat, On, Saudi Entertainment Ventures, and Under Armour.
